How to Draw an Oscillating Sprinkler
Draw an oscillating sprinkler in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the spray bar.
Step 1: The spray bar
A little below the middle of your paper draw a long flat pill lying sideways, with round ends.
Tip This sprinkler rocks from side to side, fanning water over the lawn.
Step 2: Holes
Along the top of the bar draw a row of small dots, evenly spaced.
Step 3: The base
Under the bar draw a short flat block, and a wider flat foot under that on the ground.
Step 4: Hose
On the left end draw a little box. From it draw a hose swooping down to the ground.
Step 5: Water streams left
From the top of the bar above the 4 left holes, draw thin water streams curving up and left.
Tip Each stream is a long skinny shape, fuller in the middle and thin at the end.
Step 6: Water streams right
From the top of the bar above the 4 right holes, draw 4 more streams curving up and right.
Step 7: Drops
Draw 4 little drops flying off the ends of the outside streams.
Step 8: Ground and grass
Draw a ground line from left to right under the foot and hose, with 3 soft grass tufts on it.
Step 9: Yellow bar
Go over your lines, then colour the bar yellow.
Step 10: Blue water
Colour the water streams and the drops sky blue.
Step 11: Green base, hose, grass
Colour the base, foot, box, hose and grass tufts green. Swish, swish!
