Print

  1. Step 1: A platter

Across the middle of your paper draw a big flat oval platter, almost as wide as the paper.

  2. Step 2: The rim

Draw a second oval a finger inside the platter, for the rim.

  3. Step 3: A roast duck

At the back of the platter draw a big plump egg lying down, flatter on the bottom.

Tip Peking duck is roasted until the skin is crispy, then sliced and rolled in little pancakes.

  4. Step 4: Two drumsticks

Low on each side of the duck draw a drumstick, fat and round at the bottom, narrowing up and out.

  5. Step 5: Little bones

From the thin end of each drumstick draw a short bone with 2 little round knobs on the end.

  6. Step 6: A shine

Near the top right of the duck draw a thin curved banana shape, for the shiny skin.

  7. Step 7: Duck slices

In front of the duck on the left draw 3 slices, each a little in front of the last.

  8. Step 8: Crispy skin

Along the top of each slice draw a curved line from end to end, for the crispy skin.

  9. Step 9: Pancakes

On the right draw 2 folded pancakes, half circles, one a little in front of the other.

  10. Step 10: Scallions

Behind the pancakes draw 3 scallion sticks with round tips, fanning up and to the right.

  11. Step 11: A sauce bowl

At the front draw a small oval, a U under it from end to end, and a sauce oval inside.

  12. Step 12: Cream meat and pancakes

Go over your lines, then colour the meat on the slices, the pancakes and the bones cream.

  13. Step 13: Sky platter, green scallions

Colour the platter sky blue, going around the food and the bowl. Colour the scallions green.

  14. Step 14: Golden duck, brown sauce

Colour the duck, drumsticks and crispy skin golden orange, and the sauce brown. Leave the shine and the bowl white.
