How to Draw a Pecan
Draw a pecan in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the nut.
Step 1: The nut
In the middle, draw a long oval standing up, pointy at the top and a little pointy at the bottom.
Step 2: Two big eyes
In the middle of the nut draw 2 big egg eyes, an eye apart. Colour a black dot in each.
Step 3: A big smile
A little under the eyes draw a wide U smile, from under the left eye to under the right eye.
Step 4: Stripes on the left
On the left draw a long smooth curve near the edge, and a short one up top, for shell stripes.
Tip Keep the stripes clear of the face.
Step 5: Stripes on the right
Do the same on the right: one long smooth curve near the edge and one short curve near the top.
Step 6: A little pecan
On the ground to the right draw a little pecan lying down: a long oval, pointy at each end.
Step 7: Its stripes
Along the little pecan draw 1 long curve from end to end. Add a short streak near each end.
Step 8: Ground and grass
From near the left edge, draw a soft ground line to near the right edge. Add grass at each end.
Step 9: Pink cheeks
Go over your lines. Colour 2 rosy pink cheeks under the outside of each eye.
Step 10: Brown shells
Colour both pecans brown, going around the eyes and the pink cheeks, and the grass green. Your pecan is done!
Tip Leave the eyes white.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a pecan, drawn by you.
