How to Draw a Path
Draw a path in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big hill.
Step 1: The big hill
Near the bottom, start low on the left. Draw a big soft round hill, stopping level with the start.
Tip Keep both ends of the hill inside the paper.
Step 2: A hill behind
Start on the big hill's right slope. Draw a low round hill behind, stopping level with the big hill's feet.
Step 3: The ground
Under the hills, draw a long straight ground line from edge to edge, touching the feet of both hills.
Step 4: A winding path
Start on the ground, left of the middle. Draw a gentle S curve to the hilltop, and another beside it.
Tip The 2 lines get closer at the top: the path looks far away.
Step 5: A tree
Near the hilltop, draw 2 short trunk lines up from the hill, stopping at a bumpy cloud of leaves.
Step 6: The sun
In the top right corner, draw a round sun as big as a plum, with 8 short rays around it.
Step 7: A cloud
In the top left, draw a small puffy cloud: 4 bumps over the top and 2 underneath.
Step 8: A signpost
Right of the path, partway up the hill, draw a thin post with a pointy arrow board on top.
Step 9: Flowers
Draw 4 little flowers on the hill, 2 each side of the path, with 5 round petals and a middle.
Step 10: Sandy path
Colour the path sand yellow, from the ground up to the top of the hill.
Step 11: Yellow sun and flowers
Colour the sun and the flower petals yellow, and the little flower middles orange.
Step 12: Green hills
Colour the front hill leaf green and the back hill dark green, around the path, flowers and signpost.
Step 13: Leafy tree, wood signpost
Colour the tree top green, and the trunk and signpost brown. Go over your lines and your path is done!
