How to Draw a Paper Doll
Draw a paper doll in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the middle head.
Step 1: The middle head
A little above the middle of your paper draw a round head about as big as a plum.
Tip A paper-doll chain is cut from folded paper, so every doll looks the same.
Step 2: Two big eyes
On the head draw 2 round eyes side by side, each with a big black dot and a white shine.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a small smile, and a tiny oval cheek on each side.
Step 4: Two more heads
Draw a head the same size on each side of the first one, a hand's width away.
Step 5: Their faces
Give the other 2 dolls the same face: 2 round eyes with dots, a smile and 2 cheeks.
Step 6: Arms and necks
Start at a hand far left. Draw an arm line bumping round each neck, ending at a hand far right.
Tip The dolls hold hands, so the arms make one long line.
Step 7: Three dresses
Start at the right hand and draw back to the left hand, with a wide dress under each doll.
Step 8: Six legs
Under each dress draw 2 little legs with round feet. Start at the dress and stop back at the dress.
Step 9: Hearts
Draw a little heart on the front of each dress.
Step 10: Ground and sparkles
Draw a ground line across the paper under the feet, and two sparkle stars above the dolls.
Step 11: Red and blue hearts
Go over your lines. Colour the first heart red and the middle heart blue.
Step 12: Green heart, pink cheeks
Colour the last heart green and all the cheeks pink.
Step 13: Peach dolls, yellow sparkles
Colour the dolls peach around the hearts and cheeks, leaving the eyes white, and the sparkles yellow.
