How to Draw a Pan Flute
Draw a pan flute in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the tallest pipe.
Step 1: The tallest pipe
Left of the middle draw one tall thin box standing up, as tall as your hand, with a rounded bottom.
Step 2: 3 more pipes
Next to it draw 3 more tall thin boxes side by side, each a little shorter, with their tops level.
Tip Leave a tiny gap between the pipes.
Step 3: The short pipes
Keep going right with 3 more pipes, each shorter again, so the bottoms make a stair going down.
Step 4: The blow holes
Inside the top of every pipe draw a small flat oval for the open end you blow across.
Step 5: The top band
A little under the tops draw one long flat strip across all the pipes, poking out past both ends.
Tip The band goes over the pipes, so the pipe lines stop at it.
Step 6: The bottom band
A little lower draw a second long flat strip across all the pipes, the same length.
Step 7: Cord ends
From the right end of each band draw a short cord out to the side, ending in a little knot.
Step 8: Music notes
Draw a music note each side of the flute: a dot with a stem going up and a little flag.
Step 9: Wood pipes
Go over your lines, then colour all the pipes wood brown, blow holes and all.
Step 10: Red bands, blue notes
Colour the 2 bands and the cord knots red, and the music notes blue. Your pan flute is ready!
