How to Draw Fire
Draw fire in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big flame.
Step 1: Big flame
Draw a tall teardrop flame with a curly tip and a lick on each side. Make it huge.
Tip Round at the bottom, thin at the top, nearly the whole paper.
Step 2: Belly glow
From low on the left side, draw a wavy line with 2 points across to the right side.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Above the middle of the flame, draw 2 big egg eyes. Add black dots and white shines.
Step 4: Laughing mouth
Under the eyes, draw a wide D lying on its back for a laughing mouth.
Step 5: Little tongue
Inside the bottom of the mouth, draw a little hill from side to side for the tongue.
Step 6: The ground
Draw a long straight ground line under the flame, stopping a little before the edges of the paper.
Step 7: Two baby flames
On the ground beside the big flame, draw a small pointy flame with a tiny lick. Do both sides.
Step 8: Floating sparkles
Off the curly tip, draw 3 tiny four-point sparkles drifting up and to the right.
Step 9: Yellow glow
Colour the belly under the wavy line, the baby flames and the sparkles yellow.
Step 10: Orange flame
Colour the big flame orange down to the wavy line, around the eyes and mouth. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Colour the mouth
Colour the tongue pink, then the mouth black around it.
