How to Draw a Play Tent
Draw a play tent in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the tent.
Step 1: The tent
Left of the middle, draw a tall triangle as tall as your hand, flat bottom on the ground.
Step 2: Two big eyes
In the middle of the tent draw 2 big egg eyes, close together. Black dot and shine in each.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile from eye to eye, and an oval cheek beside each end.
Step 4: The door
Under the face draw an arch door: start on the ground, curve up and over, and stop on the ground.
Step 5: The flag
From the tip of the tent draw a short pole up, stopping a thumb above. Add a little triangle flag.
Step 6: The tunnel
Start on the tent's right side. Draw a short tube with a round end, stopping at the tent's corner.
Step 7: Tunnel rings
Draw 2 curved hoop lines across the tunnel and a smaller oval inside the round end, for the opening.
Step 8: Ground line
Start a little in from the left edge. Draw a straight ground line across, stopping before the right edge.
Step 9: Sparkles
Draw a few little four-point sparkles around it to make it shine.
Step 10: Yellow and pink
Go over your lines. Colour the flag, the sparkles and the tunnel opening yellow, and the cheeks pink.
Step 11: Red tent
Colour the tent red around the eyes, the cheeks and the door. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Blue tunnel, grey door
Colour the tunnel blue around its opening, and the door slate grey.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a play tent, drawn by you.
