How to Draw a Paint Roller

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a paint roller in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the roller.

Print

  1. Step 1: The roller

Near the top, draw a long fat sausage lying sideways, flat at the right end, round at the left.

Tip The roller is 3 times longer than it is tall.

  2. Step 2: The end cap

Inside the left end, draw a tall curve from top edge to bottom edge, bulging right, like a tin.

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

A little left of the middle, draw 2 big egg eyes close together. Put a big black dot in each.

  4. Step 4: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes, draw a U smile from eye to eye, and a small oval cheek beside each end.

  5. Step 5: The frame

From the middle of the right end, draw a fat wire out, down, and back in under the middle.

  6. Step 6: The handle

At the end of the wire, draw a long fat pill hanging straight down for the handle.

Tip The handle is about half as long as the roller.

  7. Step 7: Nap lines

On the right part of the roller, draw 3 short lines from top to bottom, a finger apart.

  8. Step 8: Sparkles

Draw 3 sparkle stars around the roller: 4 dots like a plus sign joined by curved sides.

  9. Step 9: Pink cheeks, yellow sparkles

Go over your lines. Colour the cheeks pink and the sparkles yellow.

  10. Step 10: Grey frame, orange handle

Colour the bent wire frame grey and the handle orange.

  11. Step 11: Blue roller

Colour the roller blue around the cheeks, and leave the eyes white. Your paint roller is ready to roll!
