How to Draw a Packed Lunch

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a packed lunch in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the box.

Print

  1. Step 1: The box

Low on the page draw a big box with soft corners, a little wider at the bottom.

Tip Leave the top third of the page for the lid.

  2. Step 2: Inside edge

Inside it draw a smaller box, close to the top and sides, with a thick front. Add a small clasp.

  3. Step 3: Open lid

From the top of the box draw the open lid standing up behind it. Draw a smaller shape inside.

Tip The lid leans in a little at the top.

  4. Step 4: Four spaces

Draw 2 lines down the inside of the box. Join them with 1 line across the middle.

  5. Step 5: Sandwich top

In the big left space draw a wide triangle with a soft top, for the top slice of bread.

  6. Step 6: Sandwich layers

From the triangle's left corner draw down, along and up to the right corner. Add 3 lines across, one wavy.

  7. Step 7: Apple

In the top middle space draw a round apple with a dip on top, a stalk and a leaf.

  8. Step 8: Carrot sticks

Under the apple draw 3 carrot sticks side by side, each a little thinner at the bottom.

Tip Lean the 2 outside sticks away from the middle one.

  9. Step 9: Juice box

In the right space draw a tall box with a line across near the top.

Tip Leave room above it for the straw.

  10. Step 10: Straw and label

Draw a bendy straw poking out of the top. Draw a round fruit picture on the front.

  11. Step 11: Yellow and tan

Colour the bread tan. Colour the cheese, the juice box and the clasp yellow.

Tip The bread is the triangle and the top and bottom stripes.

  12. Step 12: Orange and green

Colour the carrots and the round picture orange. Colour the lettuce and the apple leaf green.

  13. Step 13: Red and blue

Colour the apple and the straw red. Colour the lid and the box blue. Leave the inside white.
