How to Draw a Cinnamon Roll
Draw a cinnamon roll in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: top of the roll.
Step 1: Top of the roll
Near the middle of your paper, draw a big wide oval for the top of the roll.
Tip Make it more than half as wide as your paper.
Step 2: The side
From the oval's left end, draw a puffy curve down, round under it, and up to the right end.
Step 3: Icing puddle
In the middle of the top, draw a big wavy puddle of icing that hangs just over the front edge.
Tip Leave a wide band of roll showing round the back and sides.
Step 4: Two drips
Where the icing hangs over the front edge, draw 2 round drips down the side, the right one longer.
Step 5: The swirl
Start in the middle of the icing and swirl round 3 times, getting bigger, until you touch the front edge.
Tip Draw right over the icing, because the swirl shows through it.
Step 6: Dough end
Start where the swirl touches the edge. Draw a short line straight down the side, stopping at the bottom.
Step 7: The plate
From the roll's left side, draw a big flat oval round under the roll and up to its right side.
Step 8: Plate rim
Inside the plate, draw a second curve for the rim, from the roll's left side to its right side.
Step 9: The table
Draw a table line under the plate from well left to well right, just touching its bottom.
Step 10: Blue plate
Go over your lines, then colour the plate light blue around the roll.
Step 11: Tan roll
Colour the roll tan around the icing, and leave the icing white. Your cinnamon roll is done!
