How to Draw a Farfalle
Draw a farfalle in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the first bow.
Step 1: The first bow
Near the top draw a bow tie shape, pinched in the middle, with a zigzag at each end.
Tip The top and bottom edges dip towards each other in the middle.
Step 2: The pinch
In the middle of the bow draw a small oval. Add a sideways V fold on each side of it.
Tip Each V opens towards a zigzag end.
Step 3: A second bow
Below it on the left draw another bow the same size, tilted steeply like a slide.
Step 4: A third bow
Below on the right draw one more bow, tilted the other way. Leave gaps between all 3.
Step 5: Two more pinches
Give each new bow a small oval in the middle and a sideways V fold on each side.
Step 6: The plate rim
Draw a big circle around the 3 bows for the rim of the plate, not touching them.
Step 7: The plate
Draw a bigger circle around the rim for the edge of the plate.
Tip Keep the gap between the 2 circles even all the way round.
Step 8: A basil leaf
In the middle, between the 3 bows, draw a small pointed leaf with a line down the middle.
Step 9: Sauce dots
Draw 2 small round dots of sauce on the plate: one at the bottom, one up on the left.
Step 10: Yellow pasta
Go over your lines, then colour the 3 pasta bows yellow.
Step 11: Blue plate
Colour the plate light blue, around the pasta, the leaf and the sauce dots.
Step 12: Green leaf, red sauce
Colour the basil leaf green and the sauce dots red. Your farfalle is done!
