How to Draw an Oyster Mushroom
Draw an oyster mushroom in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the stump.
Step 1: The stump
On the left draw a stump: start top left, go down, across the foot, and up to stop top right.
Tip Oyster mushrooms grow sideways out of dead wood, stacked like roof tiles.
Step 2: Stump top and bark
Draw a flat oval on top. Add one bark line down from its edge and one up from the foot.
Step 3: The big cap
On the stump's right, draw a short stalk, a round dome drooping at the end, and a flat underside back.
Tip Oyster mushrooms stick out sideways like little shelves.
Step 4: A cap above
Above the big cap draw a smaller cap with a stalk, dome and underside, its bottom tucked behind.
Step 5: A cap below
Below the big cap draw another small cap, its stalk top and dome tucked behind the big cap.
Step 6: Big cap rim
Under the big dome draw a rim line from the droopy end back to the top of the stalk.
Step 7: Small cap rim
Under the bottom cap draw a rim line from its droopy end back under the big cap.
Step 8: Ground and grass
Draw the ground line from far left to far right through the stump's foot. Flick up grass blades each side.
Step 9: Cream and tan
Go over your lines. Colour the undersides cream, then the cap tops and cut top tan.
Step 10: Brown stump
Colour the stump brown around the mushrooms, and your oyster mushrooms are done!
