How to Draw an Old Woman

Draw an old woman in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.

Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave most of the page below for the dress and legs.
Step 2: The face
In the middle of the head draw 2 dot eyes with a shine, a U nose and a smile.
Step 3: Glasses and eyebrows
Draw a big circle round each eye for the glasses, with a little bridge between. Add 2 eyebrows above.
Step 4: Hair and bun
From beside the left glasses, draw the hair over the top and back above the eyebrows. Add a bun.
Tip The bun is a little ball balanced on top of the head.
Step 5: Neck and dress
Draw 2 neck lines. From the left one draw a long wide dress with short sleeves, ending at the right.
Step 6: Arms
From each short sleeve draw 2 lines down with a soft bend, getting closer together. Stop at the wrist.
Step 7: Mitten hands
Under each arm draw a mitten hand: a round egg bottom with a little thumb pointing in.
Step 8: Handbag
Under the left hand draw a handbag over the dress edge: a box with 2 handles up to the hand.
Tip Rub out the bit of dress line inside the bag.
Step 9: Legs and shoes
From the hem draw 2 short legs down to the ankles. Add a shoe with a round toe on each.
Step 10: The ground
Under the shoes draw a long flat line from left to right for the ground.
Step 11: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour the face, neck, arms, hands and legs peach, around 2 pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Purple dress, red bag
Colour the handbag red, then the dress purple around the bag. Leave the collar white.
Step 13: Grey hair, black shoes
Colour the hair and bun grey around the band, the band pink, and the shoes black.
