How to Draw Okra

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw okra in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the pod.

Print

  1. Step 1: The pod

Draw 1 tall pod a little left of the middle, standing on its point like an upside-down carrot.

  2. Step 2: 2 big eyes

Just below the top draw 2 big egg eyes, close together. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a shine.

  3. Step 3: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a wide U smile. Add a small flat oval cheek out beside each end of it.

  4. Step 4: The cap

On top of the pod draw a snug cap, as wide as the pod, with a wavy bottom edge.

  5. Step 5: A stem

Out of the top of the cap draw a short thick stem sticking straight up.

  6. Step 6: Ridges

Draw 2 long ridges down the sides, from under the cap to near the point, and 1 below the smile.

  7. Step 7: The ground

Draw a ground line from the left edge across to the right edge, just touching the pod's bottom.

  8. Step 8: A slice

On the ground to the right, draw a round slice a bit smaller than the cap, with a star inside.

  9. Step 9: Pink cheeks

Go over your lines, then colour the cheeks pink.

  10. Step 10: Pale slice

Colour the star cream, then the slice light green around it.

  11. Step 11: Green pod

Colour the pod, cap and stem green around the cheeks, leaving the eyes white, and your okra is done!
