How to Draw Shakshuka
Draw shakshuka in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the skillet.
Step 1: The skillet
In the middle draw a big wide oval pan seen from above, with a second oval a finger inside it.
Tip Shakshuka is cooked and served in the pan, so the pan is the plate.
Step 2: The handle
From the pan's right side draw a long thin handle sticking out, with a tiny round hole near its end.
Step 3: 3 eggs
Inside the pan draw 3 wobbly egg whites of different sizes, none touching, scattered unevenly round the pan.
Tip 2 eggs side by side with 1 below would look like a face.
Step 4: The yolks
In each egg white draw a round yolk, a little off centre, each a different size.
Step 5: Pepper and bread
Between the eggs draw 2 chunky curved pepper strips, and under the big egg a small bread wedge, not touching.
Step 6: Herb leaves
Scatter 3 small pointed leaves over the sauce, not touching anything.
Step 7: Steam
From just above the pan's top edge, draw 2 wiggly steam lines going up.
Step 8: Yellow yolks, green herbs
Go over your lines. Colour the yolks yellow and the herbs green. Leave the egg whites white.
Step 9: Tan bread, orange pepper
Colour the bread tan and the 2 pepper strips orange.
Step 10: Red sauce
Colour the sauce red, around the eggs, pepper, bread and herbs.
Step 11: Slate pan
Colour the pan's rim and the handle slate grey, and your shakshuka is ready to dip!
