How to Draw a Cracked Glass
Draw a cracked glass in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the frame.
Step 1: The frame
Draw a big square for the frame, filling most of your paper.
Tip Use a ruler if you like, so the sides are straight.
Step 2: The glass
Draw a second square just inside the first one. The glass goes inside it.
Step 3: Frame corners
At each corner draw a short slanted line, from the corner of the big square to the small square.
Step 4: The hit spot
A little left of the middle, colour in a small black dot. This is where the glass was hit.
Step 5: Cracks going up
Start at the dot. Draw 2 cracks up to the top edge, each with one small bend.
Tip Cracks are straight lines with sharp bends, never curvy.
Step 6: Cracks going right
Start at the dot. Draw 2 bent cracks out to the right edge of the glass.
Step 7: Cracks going down
Start at the dot. Draw 2 bent cracks down to the bottom edge of the glass.
Step 8: Cracks going left
Start at the dot. Draw 2 bent cracks out to the left edge of the glass.
Step 9: Forked cracks
Start at the bend of every second crack. Draw a new crack out to the edge, like a Y.
Step 10: Small cracks
Near the dot draw 5 short straight lines, each from one crack across to the next crack.
Tip Put each one a different distance from the dot, so it does not look like a spider web.
Step 11: Outer cracks
Further out draw 3 longer straight lines, each from one crack across to the next crack.
Step 12: Sky blue glass
Colour all the pieces of glass sky blue.
Step 13: Wooden frame
Go over your lines. Colour the frame wood brown. Your cracked glass is done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a cracked glass, drawn by you.
