How to Draw a Lotus
Draw a lotus in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the lily pad.
Step 1: The lily pad
Low on your paper draw a wide flat oval. Dip a V notch into the middle of its top edge.
Step 2: The middle petal
Standing in the notch, draw one tall pointed petal, like a long leaf.
Step 3: Two more petals
Either side of the middle petal draw the same petal leaning out a little, its point lower. Stop at the pad.
Step 4: Two outer petals
Outside those draw 2 more petals, lower and leaning further out, each tucked behind the one beside it.
Step 5: Two small petals
Just above the pad, draw 2 small pointed petals leaning far out left and right, tucked behind the others.
Step 6: Water
From each end of the pad draw a short wavy water line out to the edge of your paper.
Step 7: Ripples
Under the pad draw 2 short wavy lines, a longer one and a shorter one below it.
Step 8: Petal lines
Start below the point of the 3 middle petals. Draw a line down each and stop short of the bottom.
Step 9: Pink petals
Colour all the petals pink, right up to their points, stopping at the lily pad.
Step 10: Green lily pad
Colour the lily pad leaf green. Go over your lines and your lotus is done!
