How to Draw the Moon
Draw the moon in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a big light circle.
Step 1: A big light circle
Near the middle of your paper, lightly draw a big circle for the outside of the moon.
Step 2: The crescent
Go over the circle from top right, round the left, to bottom right. Close it with a shallower C.
Tip Fat in the middle, with 2 pointy horns on the right. Rub out the rest of the circle.
Step 3: A big eye
On the fat left part of the moon, a little above the middle, draw a big round eye.
Step 4: Dot and shine
Inside the eye draw a big black dot, with a small white shine at the top.
Step 5: A smile
Start below the eye and draw a soft U smile, curling up toward the horns.
Step 6: A rosy cheek
Left of the smile, just below the eye, draw a small sideways oval for a cheek.
Step 7: Little stars
In the hollow of the moon draw 3 small 5-point stars: one high, one in the middle, one low.
Tip Zig from a top point down to a bottom point, across, and back up.
Step 8: Two sparkles
Draw 2 tiny 4-point sparkles, one in the top right corner and one in the bottom left.
Step 9: Yellow moon, pink cheek
Colour the moon yellow, around the eye and the cheek. Colour the cheek pink and leave the eye white.
Step 10: Yellow stars
Colour the 3 stars and the 2 sparkles yellow. Your moon is done!
