How to Draw a Ninja Jumping

Draw a ninja jumping in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: hood head.

Step 1: Hood head
Near the top of your paper, in the middle, draw an egg head, a little wider than tall.
Tip Leave room on both sides for the arms.
Step 2: Eye opening
Just below the middle of the head draw a long rounded opening, not touching the head line.
Tip The hood covers the nose and mouth, so only the eyes show.
Step 3: Big eyes
Inside the opening draw 2 big oval eyes, each with a black dot and a white shine.
Step 4: Headband
Above the opening draw a headband from side to side. On the right add a knot and 2 flying tails.
Tip The tails fly up because the ninja is leaping.
Step 5: Neck and suit top
Under the head draw a short neck. Draw the top of the suit with round shoulders and a flat bottom.
Step 6: Belt
Draw a line across the suit just above its bottom. Add a round knot in the middle.
Step 7: Arms out wide
From each shoulder draw an arm flung out and up, bending at the elbow. Stop thinner at the wrist.
Tip Rub out the suit line inside each arm.
Step 8: Open hands
On each wrist draw a round mitten hand with a thumb on top.
Step 9: Tucked legs
From the belt draw each leg out to a bent knee, then back in to the ankle.
Tip The knees point out and the ankles come close together under the body.
Step 10: Shoes
On each ankle draw a long round shoe with the toe pointing down.
Step 11: Ground and whoosh
Rule a short ground line far below the feet. Draw 2 short whoosh lines under each shoe.
Tip The gap shows the ninja is high in the air.
Step 12: Peach skin
Colour the skin inside the opening and both hands peach. Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Red headband and belt
Colour the headband, its knot and tails, and the belt with its knot red.
Step 14: Dark suit, black shoes
Go over your lines. Colour the hood, suit, arms and legs dark blue. Colour the shoes black.
