How to Draw a Hockey Player

Draw a hockey player in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: egg head.

Step 1: Egg head
Near the top of your paper draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave the page below for the body, legs and skates.
Step 2: The face
Below the middle of the head draw 2 small oval eyes with a black dot. Add a nose and smile.
Step 3: Helmet
Draw a round helmet over the head, an ear flap down each side and a curved edge above the eyes.
Step 4: Neck and jersey
Draw 2 neck lines. Draw the jersey shoulders, then its sides and hem. Each starts and stops at the elbows.
Step 5: Long sleeves
Start at each elbow, draw 2 lines down that get closer together, and stop at the wrist.
Step 6: Big gloves
Over each wrist draw a big glove with a wide cuff, a line across it and a thumb bump.
Step 7: Shorts
Start at the bottom left of the jersey. Draw the shorts down, across, up to a point, down and back.
Step 8: Long socks
From each shorts leg draw 2 lines and stop at the ankle. Add 2 stripe lines across each sock.
Step 9: Ice skates
Under each leg draw a chunky boot with the toe poking out. Draw a thin flat blade under each boot.
Tip The blades are thin and flat so the skater can glide.
Step 10: Stick, puck and ice
Start above the right glove, draw a stick down through it to a flat blade. Add a puck and ice.
Step 11: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour the face and neck peach and the cheeks pink. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Red helmet, blue jersey
Colour the helmet, gloves and boots red, the jersey and socks blue. Leave the stripes and blades white.
Step 13: Navy shorts, black puck
Colour the stick tan, the shorts navy and the puck black. Go over your lines and you are done.
