How to Draw a Napkin
Draw a napkin in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the plate.
Step 1: The plate
In the middle of your paper draw a big wide oval for the plate, nearly as wide as the page.
Tip A plate seen from a little above is a wide oval, not a circle.
Step 2: The napkin
On the plate draw a wide box with soft round corners for the folded napkin.
Tip Leave some plate showing all the way round.
Step 3: Two big eyes
In the middle of the napkin draw 2 big egg eyes, each with a black dot and 2 white shines.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a small U smile, with a flat oval cheek below and outside each eye.
Step 5: Stripes across
Near the top edge draw 2 lines across from side to side. Draw 2 more near the bottom edge.
Step 6: Stripes down
Near each side draw 2 lines down from the top edge to the bottom edge, crossing the stripes.
Step 7: The plate's edge
Start near the plate's left end. Draw a long shallow curve just under it, stopping near the right end.
Tip Thin! A plate is flat, not a bowl.
Step 8: The table
From near the left side, draw a table line under the plate, touching its bottom, to near the right side.
Step 9: Sparkles
Draw a little four-point sparkle above each end of the plate, not touching it.
Step 10: Yellow and pink
Go over your lines, then colour the sparkles yellow and the cheeks pink.
Step 11: Sky plate
Colour the plate and its edge sky blue, going around the napkin.
Step 12: Red napkin
Colour the napkin red around the cheeks. Leave the stripes and the eyes white. Your napkin is ready!
