How to Draw a Naga

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw a naga in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.

Print

  1. Step 1: The head

Near the top of your paper draw an egg for the head, a bit narrower at the chin.

Tip Leave lots of room below for the long snake body.

  2. Step 2: The face

Below the middle of the head draw 2 big shiny eyes. Add a nose, a smile and 2 eyebrows.

  3. Step 3: Hair and bun

Draw smooth hair over the top of the head, with a fringe. Add a round bun on top.

Tip Rub out the head line inside the hair.

  4. Step 4: Neck and chest

Draw 2 neck lines. From the left one draw a U neck and a broad chest, ending at the right.

  5. Step 5: The top

From each armpit draw a curve up to the shoulder. Now the chest is a plain top.

  6. Step 6: Arms

From each shoulder draw an arm down to the wrist, wider at the top, with a soft elbow bend.

  7. Step 7: Mitten hands

On each wrist draw a round mitten hand with a little thumb bump toward the body.

  8. Step 8: Snake body

Start at the right hip. Draw a big curve out, down and back left along the ground. Stop far left.

Tip This is the outside of the snake body, like a big number 2.

  9. Step 9: Inside curve

Start at the left hip. Draw the same curve inside the first one, getting closer. Stop at its end.

Tip The body gets thinner and thinner, to a pointed tail.

  10. Step 10: Belly and ground

Start at the right hip again. Draw a belly line just inside the big curve. Stop at the tail tip.

Tip Then draw a long ground line under the snake body.

  11. Step 11: Oval spots

Draw 5 oval spots along the snake body, between the belly line and the inside curve.

Tip Make the spots smaller toward the tail.

  12. Step 12: Peach skin, pink cheeks

Go over your lines. Colour the face, neck, arms and hands peach, with a pink circle on each cheek.

  13. Step 13: Yellow belly, purple top

Colour the snake's belly and its 5 spots yellow. Colour the top purple.

  14. Step 14: Green snake, brown hair

Colour the rest of the snake body green, around the spots. Colour the hair and bun brown.
