How to Draw a Crypt
Draw a crypt in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the walls.
Step 1: The walls
Low in the middle draw a wide box for the stone walls, a hand wide and a bit less tall.
Tip Go round twice lightly, then once firmly.
Step 2: The roof
On the walls draw a wide flat triangle roof, point above the middle, poking a little past each corner.
Step 3: Two big eyes
In the roof draw 2 big egg eyes, with a black dot and white shine in each.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a little U smile from eye to eye. Add a tiny cheek beside each end.
Step 5: The arched door
In the middle of the wall draw a tall door with a rainbow top, standing on the bottom line.
Step 6: Iron bars
Inside the door draw 3 straight lines from near the top down to near the bottom, like iron bars.
Step 7: Two pillars
Beside the door draw 2 tall posts from the ground up to the roof, each with a flat cap.
Step 8: Stone blocks
On the wall draw a few short flat lines beside the door and at the edges, for stone blocks.
Step 9: Moon, bat and stars
In the top left corner draw a crescent moon. Add a little bat flying top right, and 2 stars.
Step 10: Ground and grass
Draw a ground line under the walls from edge to edge. Flick 3 pointy grass blades up on each side.
Step 11: Yellow moon, pink cheeks
Go over your lines. Colour the moon and stars yellow, and the cheeks pink.
Step 12: Light grey stone
Colour the walls and pillars light grey, going around the door.
Step 13: Dark roof and door
Colour the roof, door and bat dark grey, going around the pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
