How to Draw a Naan
Draw a naan in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a plate.
Step 1: A plate
In the middle of the page draw a big oval plate, nearly as wide as the page.
Step 2: The rim
Draw a second oval a finger inside the plate, all the way round, for the rim.
Step 3: The naan
On the plate draw a big teardrop lying down: a point at the upper left and a fat round end.
Tip Naan is a soft flatbread shaped like a big teardrop.
Step 4: Thick edge
Start at the point. Draw a curve just under the bottom edge and stop at the far right end.
Step 5: A pat of butter
On the fat end draw a small slanted box with round corners. Draw a curve across it, near the bottom.
Step 6: Melting puddle
Draw a wobbly puddle all round the butter, starting and ending behind it.
Step 7: Charred blisters
On the naan draw 5 soft blobs of different sizes, spread about, for the toasty bubbles.
Step 8: Coriander
Draw 4 tiny coriander leaves here and there on the naan, each pointed at both ends.
Step 9: Yellow butter, green herbs
Colour the butter and its puddle yellow, and colour the 4 leaves green.
Step 10: Brown blisters
Colour the 5 charred blisters brown.
Step 11: Tan bread
Go over your lines. Colour the naan and its thick edge tan, around the butter, blisters and leaves.
Step 12: Sky plate
Colour the plate sky blue, all round the naan.
