How to Draw a Mustang
Draw a mustang in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big egg head.
Step 1: Big egg head
Near the top left, draw a big egg head, a bit longer than wide. Leave room on the right.
Tip A big head is what makes it cute.
Step 2: Eyes and nose
Draw 2 big oval eyes with black dots. Under them, draw a big egg nose with nostrils and a smile.
Step 3: Ears and fringe
On each top corner, draw a leaf ear pointing up, with a smaller leaf inside. Add a fringe.
Step 4: Neck and mane
Start behind the head. Draw the neck sloping down, stopping at the back. Add the front and mane bumps.
Tip The neck grows from behind the head, wider at the bottom.
Step 5: Bean body
From the neck, draw a big soft bean body: a long back, a round bottom, a tummy and a chest.
Tip A bean, not a loaf: the bottom is rounder and higher.
Step 6: Two legs
Draw a ground line low down. Draw a front leg from the chest and a back leg from the bottom.
Tip A hoof is a little doorstop with a line across its top.
Step 7: The far legs
Draw 2 thinner legs peeking out, one behind the front leg and one in front of the back leg.
Step 8: Flowing tail
From the top corner of the bottom, draw a long flowing tail curving down to a point. Add hair lines.
Step 9: The blaze
Draw a thin stripe from under the fringe, down between the eyes to the top of the nose.
Step 10: Peach ears
Colour the ear insides peach.
Step 11: Brown mustang
Colour the nose and blaze cream, and the rest brown, around the peach. Leave the hair, hooves and eyes white.
Step 12: Black hair
Colour the mane, fringe and tail black, and the hooves slate. Go over your lines. Your mustang is done!
