How to Draw a Board Game
Draw a board game in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the board.
Step 1: The board
In the middle of your paper draw a big square with soft corners, nearly as wide as the page.
Step 2: The middle
Inside the board draw a smaller square, a thumb in from every edge. A path runs round it.
Step 3: Two big eyes
In the middle square draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a black dot in each and leave a shine.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile. Add a small oval cheek beside each end.
Step 5: Path squares across
Along the top path draw 4 short lines from the edge to the middle square. Do the bottom too.
Step 6: Path squares down
Down the left path draw 4 short lines from the edge to the middle square. Do the right too.
Step 7: A die
In the bottom right corner square draw a small die with soft corners. Add 3 dots across it.
Step 8: Two pawns
On the top path draw 2 pawns like tiny bells. One in the corner, one in the middle.
Step 9: The finish star
In the bottom left corner square draw a little star for the finish.
Step 10: Cream middle, pink cheeks
Colour the middle square cream, around the eyes and cheeks, leaving the eyes white. Colour the cheeks pink.
Step 11: Yellow star, red squares
Colour the finish star yellow. Colour every other path square red, all the way round.
Step 12: Blue pawns, green squares
Colour the pawns blue. Colour the other squares leaf green around the pawns, star and white die. Ready to play!
