How to Draw a Tennis Ball
Draw a tennis ball in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the ball.
Step 1: The ball
In the middle of your paper draw one big round ball, about two thirds as wide as the page.
Tip Go round slowly. A ball may be perfectly round.
Step 2: Two seams
On each side, start on the top edge. Draw a curve bowing in, stopping on the bottom edge.
Tip Keep the seams near the sides so the face has room.
Step 3: Big eyes
In the middle of the ball draw 2 big tall oval eyes with a small gap between them.
Step 4: Dots and shines
Inside each eye colour a big black dot. Leave a white shine at the top and a tiny one below.
Step 5: Big smile
Start under the left eye. Draw a wide U smile, stopping under the right eye.
Tip Leave a little air between the eyes and the smile.
Step 6: Round cheeks
Add a small oval cheek beside each end of the smile.
Step 7: Seam bands
Beside each seam, start on the top edge. Draw a second curve nearer the middle, stopping on the bottom edge.
Tip The two lines stay a finger apart all the way, like a road.
Step 8: Ground
Draw one straight ground line across the page, just under the ball.
Step 9: Pink cheeks
Colour the 2 cheeks pink, and keep the eyes white.
Step 10: Yellow ball
Colour the ball yellow around the face. Leave the 2 seam bands white. Your tennis ball is done!
