How to Draw a Mushroom Cluster
Draw a mushroom cluster in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the cut end.
Step 1: The cut end
On the left, below the middle, draw a tall egg, hand-tall, for the cut end of a log.
Step 2: The log
From the top of the egg draw a long log to the right, round its end, and stop under it.
Step 3: Rings and bark
Inside the cut end draw 2 smaller eggs for tree rings. Add 2 short bark lines along the log.
Step 4: 2 tall caps
Above the log draw 2 mushroom caps, round humps with flat bottoms. Tuck the taller one just behind the first.
Step 5: 2 shorter caps
To the right draw 2 more caps, each lower and tucked behind the last, so they step down like stairs.
Step 6: Stems on the log
From each cap's bottom draw a short, chubby stem down to the log, curving a little, wider at the foot.
Step 7: Ground and moss
Draw a ground line under the log. Add a moss hump that starts and stops on the log top.
Step 8: A tiny one
Right of the log draw a tiny hump cap, then a short stem from it down to the ground.
Step 9: Grass
Start on the ground and flick 2 short grass blades up on the left and one on the right.
Step 10: Cream stems
Colour every stem cream.
Step 11: Ginger caps
Colour all 5 caps ginger brown.
Step 12: Wood log
Colour the log wood brown and the moss green, around the stems. Your mushroom cluster is done!
