How to Draw a Hibiscus
Draw a hibiscus in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the middle.
Step 1: The middle
In the top third of your paper draw a small circle as big as a grape.
Step 2: The first petal
From the circle, draw a big wide round petal up and over. Stop back on the circle.
Step 3: Two more petals
Add a petal up right and one down right. Start each on the petal before, and stop on the circle.
Tip Let each petal tuck behind the one before, so there are no gaps between them.
Step 4: The last two petals
Add a petal down left, then one up left ending on the first petal. Start each on the petal before.
Step 5: The pollen stalk
From the middle circle draw a long line up right, out between 2 petals. Add 5 dots on the end.
Step 6: The stem
Start between the 2 bottom petals. Draw 2 bending stem lines that spread a little, and stop near the bottom.
Step 7: Two leaves
A hand below the flower draw a fat leaf on each side of the stem, with a soft rounded tip.
Step 8: Leaf veins
Start on the stem in the middle of each leaf. Draw a vein out and stop short of the tip.
Step 9: Ground and grass
Draw a ground line almost edge to edge. Add 2 little grass blades on each side of the stem.
Step 10: Red petals, yellow middle
Colour all 5 petals red, and colour the middle circle and the pollen dots yellow.
Step 11: Green stem and leaves
Colour the stem and both leaves green. Go over your lines and your hibiscus is done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a hibiscus, drawn by you.
