How to Draw an Alien Planet
Draw an alien planet in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the planet.
Step 1: The planet
In the middle of your paper draw a big round planet, as big as a grapefruit.
Step 2: Two big eyes
A little above the middle draw 2 big eggy eyes, one eye apart. Add black dots with tiny shines.
Step 3: A big smile
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile from one eye to the other, with the ends turning up.
Step 4: Craters
Low on the planet draw 3 oval craters of different sizes, well away from the smile.
Step 5: An orbit line
Start left of the planet. Draw a thin oval low across its front, up behind it, until the ends join.
Tip Just one thin line, not a fat ring: the path the moon flies round.
Step 6: A little moon
On the front of the orbit line, low on the left, draw a small round moon sitting on the line.
Step 7: A flying saucer
Top right, draw a flat oval saucer with a round dome sitting on top. Add 3 little lights.
Step 8: Stars and sparkles
Around the planet draw 3 small 5-point stars near the corners, and dot 3 tiny sparkles in the sky.
Step 9: Pink cheeks, blue dome
Give the planet 2 rosy pink cheeks under the outside of each eye, and colour the saucer dome sky blue.
Step 10: Yellow moon, grey saucer
Colour the stars, moon and saucer lights yellow, and the saucer grey around the lights.
Step 11: Green craters, purple planet
Colour the craters green and the planet purple around the craters and cheeks. Leave the eyes white, and you're done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: an alien planet, drawn by you.
