How to Draw a Dewdrop
Draw a dewdrop in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big leaf.
Step 1: The big leaf
Start at the bottom left. Draw a big slanted leaf up to a point at the top right, and back.
Tip A dewdrop is a bead of water on a leaf in the morning.
Step 2: The dewdrop
In the middle of the leaf draw a big fat bead of water: round on top, gently curved underneath.
Step 3: Two big eyes
In the drop draw 2 big round eyes, a little apart, with a shiny dot in each.
Step 4: A smile
Under the eyes draw a happy smile and a small oval cheek at each side, inside the drop.
Step 5: A shine
On the drop's top left, draw a little curved crescent for the shine, close to the edge.
Step 6: The midrib
Start at the bottom point. Draw a middle line, stopping at the drop. Carry on past it to the tip.
Step 7: Veins
From the midline draw 5 short curved veins out toward the leaf edges.
Step 8: The stem
From the leaf's bottom point draw a short stem curving down, getting thinner to a round tip.
Step 9: Tiny drops
Draw 2 tiny round drops on the leaf: one below the big drop on the right, one near the stem.
Step 10: The sun
Draw a sun with short rays in the top right corner.
Step 11: Sky drop
Colour the big drop and the tiny drops pale sky blue, around the cheeks. Leave the shines and eyes white.
Step 12: Pink cheeks, yellow sun
Colour the cheeks pink and the sun yellow.
Step 13: Green leaf
Colour the leaf and the stem leaf green, around the drops. Go over your lines and your dewdrop is done!
