How to Draw a Museum
Draw a museum in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the base.
Step 1: The base
Low down, start on the left. Draw a long flat base up, across and down, stopping level with the start.
Step 2: The building
Start on the base. Draw a wide block straight up, across the top, and down to stop on the base.
Tip A museum is grand: wide, with a triangle roof and columns.
Step 3: Roof and dome
Draw a wide triangle on the block. Start on its left slope, curve a dome over, stop on the right.
Step 4: Four columns
Across the front, draw 4 tall columns from the base up to the roof, each with a flat cap.
Step 5: Door and windows
Between the middle columns, draw a tall door standing on the base. Add a small square window each side.
Step 6: A bone banner
Draw a pole from the right column across to the wall edge. Hang a V-bottom banner with a bone.
Step 7: A star banner
Draw a pole from the left wall edge across to the column. Hang another banner with a star.
Step 8: Steps and ground
Under the door draw 2 steps, the lower one wider. Then draw the ground line along the bottom, edge to edge.
Step 9: Clouds
Draw a small puffy cloud each side of the sky: 4 bumps over the top and 2 shallow bumps underneath.
Step 10: Red banners
Colour the bone and the star cream, then colour both banners red around them.
Step 11: Stone museum
Colour the building, base and triangle stone grey, around the banners, door and windows. Leave the columns white.
Step 12: Teal dome, sky windows
Colour the dome teal and the two windows sky blue.
Step 13: Wooden door
Colour the door wood brown. Go over all your lines and your museum is done!
