How to Draw Mud
Draw mud in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the mud puddle.
Step 1: The mud puddle
Below the middle of your paper draw a big flat puddle with soft wobbly edges, twice as wide as tall.
Step 2: The pig's head
In the puddle's middle draw a chubby pig head with a curved bottom. Rub out the puddle line inside.
Tip Only the top of the pig shows. Its chin is hiding under the mud.
Step 3: 2 big eyes
Above the middle of the head draw 2 big oval eyes, close together, with a black dot and a shine.
Step 4: Snout and smile
Below the eyes draw a sideways oval snout with 2 nostrils, and a happy smile under it.
Step 5: Pig ears
On each top corner of the head draw a soft triangle ear leaning out, with a smaller triangle inside.
Step 6: A mud ring
From one side of the head draw a flat oval ring round its bottom, stopping on the other side.
Step 7: Mud drops
On each side of the head draw 2 round mud drops, a big one and a little one higher up.
Step 8: Mud bubbles
In the mud in front of the pig draw 3 little round bubbles.
Step 9: The ground
From the left edge draw the ground to the puddle's left tip, then from its right tip to the edge.
Step 10: Grass tufts
On the ground a little way out from each puddle tip, draw a small grass tuft with 3 pointy blades.
Step 11: Peach snout
Colour the snout around the nostrils, and the inside of each ear, peach.
Step 12: Pink pig
Colour the head and the ears pink, around the peach. Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Green grass
Colour the 2 grass tufts green.
Step 14: Brown mud
Colour the puddle, the mud drops and the bubbles brown, around the pig. Your mud is done!
