How to Draw Weather Symbols
Draw weather symbols in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: round sun.
Step 1: Round sun
In the top left corner draw a round sun. Leave room all round it for rays.
Tip This page holds 6 small pictures: 3 on top and 3 below.
Step 2: Sun rays
Draw 8 pointed rays all round the sun, like little triangles sitting on the circle.
Tip Start with top, bottom, left and right. Then fill the gaps.
Step 3: Fluffy cloud
In the top middle draw a cloud: a flat bottom, round ends and 2 big bumps on top.
Step 4: Rain cloud
In the top right draw another cloud, a little higher up, to leave room for rain.
Step 5: Raindrops
Under the rain cloud draw 3 raindrops, pointed on top and round below. Make the middle one biggest.
Step 6: Storm cloud
In the bottom left draw a third cloud, high up in its corner.
Step 7: Lightning bolt
From under the storm cloud draw a zigzag bolt: down, a step sideways, then down to a sharp point.
Step 8: Snowflake arms
In the bottom middle draw a dot. Draw 6 straight arms out from it, like a star.
Step 9: Snowflake tips
Halfway along each arm draw a small V that opens outwards, away from the middle.
Step 10: Windy lines
In the bottom right draw 3 wind lines. Curl the end of each one round like a snail.
Tip The top 2 curl up. The bottom one curls down.
Step 11: Yellow sun and bolt
Colour the round sun and the lightning bolt yellow.
Step 12: Orange rays, blue rain
Colour the sun's 8 rays orange and the 3 raindrops blue.
Step 13: Grey clouds
Leave the first cloud white. Colour the rain cloud light grey and the storm cloud dark grey.
