How to Draw a Movie Camera
Draw a movie camera in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the camera box.
Step 1: The camera box
In the middle of your paper draw a soft box with round corners, a little wider than tall.
Step 2: Two film reels
On top of the box draw 2 big circles side by side. Add a small circle inside each.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the box draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a big black dot in each, leaving a white shine.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile from eye to eye. Add a small oval cheek at each end.
Step 5: The lens
On the left side of the box draw a short tube. Draw a tall oval on its end.
Step 6: The crank
Start on the right side of the box. Draw a short line out, then up. Stop at a tiny knob.
Step 7: The stand
Draw a thick post under the box. From its bottom draw 3 thin legs, 1 down, 2 slanting, ending level.
Step 8: Ground and sparkles
Draw a ground line under the legs from well left to well right. Add a sparkle up on each side.
Step 9: Pink cheeks, yellow sparkles
Colour the cheeks pink and the sparkles yellow.
Step 10: Sky glass, slate camera
Colour the glass sky blue, then the camera slate grey, around the face. Leave the eyes and reel holes white.
Step 11: Black stand
Colour the crank knob and the post black, and your movie camera is rolling!
