How to Draw Planting a Tree
Draw planting a tree in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the leafy top.
Step 1: The leafy top
Above the middle of your paper draw a big cloud of 6 soft bumps for the leaves.
Step 2: The trunk
From under the leaves draw 2 lines down toward the bottom of your paper, spreading at the end. Join them.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the leaves draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a big black dot in each, leaving a white shine.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile from eye to eye. Add a small oval cheek at each end.
Step 5: Ground and hole
Draw a ground line from each edge, stopping before the trunk. Join them with a dip along the trunk's bottom.
Step 6: Two dirt piles
On each side of the hole draw a dirt hill. Start on the ground, go over, stop on the ground.
Step 7: A shovel
In the right dirt pile draw a shovel leaning right: a short box, 2 long lines up, a blade.
Step 8: The handle
On top of the shaft draw a fat pill lying across it. Draw a smaller pill inside it.
Step 9: Grass tufts
Draw a grass tuft at each end. Start on the ground, go up to 3 points, stop on the ground.
Step 10: Pink cheeks, green leaves
Colour the cheeks pink. Colour the leaves and grass green around the cheeks, leaving the eyes white.
Step 11: Wood trunk, brown dirt
Colour the trunk and the shovel's shaft wood brown. Colour the hole and dirt piles brown around the trunk.
Step 12: Red handle
Colour the shovel's handle red. Leave its hole white.
Step 13: Slate blade
Colour the blade and the collar slate grey. Your little tree is planted!
