How to Draw a Vase
Draw a vase in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the rim.
Step 1: The rim
A little above the middle draw a small flat oval for the top of the vase, 2 fingers wide.
Step 2: The vase
Start at the oval's left end. Go down the neck, belly and flat foot, and up to its right end.
Tip A neck, a big belly and a little flared foot, the same both sides.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the belly, just above its widest part, draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile from eye to eye. Draw a small flat cheek beside each end.
Step 5: A stem
Start in the middle of the opening. Draw a stem up, leaning right. Stop 1 finger above the rim.
Step 6: The flower
Above the stem draw a round middle the size of a coin, with 6 fat teardrop petals round it.
Step 7: A leaf
Near the bottom of the stem draw 1 fat teardrop leaf leaning out to the left.
Step 8: A zigzag band
A little under the face draw a gentle curve from side to side. Add a zigzag under it.
Step 9: The table
Draw a long table line under the foot, from left to right.
Step 10: Cream band, pink cheeks
Colour the band between the curve and the zigzag cream, and the cheeks pink.
Step 11: Yellow flower, green leaf
Colour the middle of the flower yellow and the leaf green. Leave the petals white.
Step 12: Blue vase
Go over your lines, then colour the vase blue around the face, above the band and below the zigzag.
Tip Leave the eyes white.
