How to Draw Mount Fuji
Draw Mount Fuji in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big cone.
Step 1: The big cone
Start low at the left. Curve up, steeper and steeper, to a flat top, then curve down to the right.
Tip The 2 sides match, and the top sits just above the middle.
Step 2: The ground
Along the foot of the mountain, draw a long straight ground line almost from edge to edge.
Step 3: A wavy snow cap
Well below the top, start on the left slope. Draw 5 soft hanging bumps across to the right slope.
Tip Like a wavy skirt: this is the snow line.
Step 4: A red sun
In the top right corner draw a round sun, about as big as a plum, with no rays.
Step 5: A cloud
In the top left draw a small puffy cloud: 3 round bumps over the top and a gently curved bottom.
Step 6: A blossom cloud
At the left, start low and draw a round fluffy cloud of 8 soft bumps, back to the start.
Tip This is the cherry blossom tree, in front of the mountain's slope.
Step 7: The trunk
From under the blossom cloud draw 2 trunk lines a finger apart, down to the ground, flaring at the bottom.
Step 8: Little blossoms
Draw 5 tiny flowers inside the blossom cloud, each with 5 round petals, clear of its edge.
Step 9: Pink blossom
Colour the blossom cloud pink around the little flowers, and leave the flowers white.
Step 10: Red sun, brown trunk
Colour the sun red and the tree trunk brown.
Step 11: Blue mountain
Colour the mountain blue around the tree. Leave the snow cap and cloud white, and go over your lines.
