How to Draw a Dandelion
Draw a dandelion in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the fluffy puff.
Step 1: The fluffy puff
Near the top, draw a big round puff as big as an orange. Give it lots of small soft bumps.
Step 2: The middle
In the very middle of the puff, draw a small circle as big as a pea.
Step 3: 4 seed stalks
Draw 4 lines from the middle like a plus sign. End each near the edge with a fan of hairs.
Step 4: 8 more stalks
In each gap, draw 2 more lines from the middle, each ending near the edge with a fan of hairs.
Step 5: Seeds blowing away
Draw 3 seeds floating off to the right: a dot, a short line up and a fan of hairs.
Tip Each seed is a tiny parachute.
Step 6: The stem
Start under the puff. Draw 2 bending lines down, getting wider apart. Stop near the bottom of the paper.
Step 7: Jagged leaves
Start low on the stem. Draw a jagged leaf out left, ending on the stem. Do the right too.
Tip Zigzag edges, like a row of teeth.
Step 8: The ground
Draw a soft sagging ground line under the leaves, from near the left edge to near the right edge.
Step 9: Green stem and leaves
Colour the stem and both jagged leaves green.
Step 10: Sand middle, white puff
Colour the small middle circle sand and the puff white. Go over your lines and your dandelion is done!
