How to Draw an Icicle
Draw an icicle in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the roof edge.
Step 1: The roof edge
Near the top, start at the left edge. Draw 2 long flat lines across to the right edge.
Step 2: The big icicle
Start under the middle of the bar. Slant down to a sharp point, then back up to the bar.
Tip Make it long, past the middle of the page.
Step 3: A happy face
On the fat part of the big icicle draw 2 eggy eyes with black dots. Add a small U smile.
Step 4: Snow on top
Along the top of the bar draw a row of 7 soft snow bumps from edge to edge.
Step 5: Two more icicles
On each side of the big one draw a shorter icicle the same way, one a little longer.
Step 6: Two little icicles
Near each edge of the paper draw one more little icicle, the shortest yet.
Step 7: Shines
Draw a short curved shine line down the left side of the 3 biggest icicles.
Step 8: Drips
Under the points of the 3 biggest icicles draw a tiny falling drip, like an upside-down teardrop.
Step 9: Sparkles
Draw 4 little sparkles in the empty spaces, like frosty twinkles.
Step 10: Snowy ground
Low on the paper draw the ground line from edge to edge. Add 6 soft snow bumps along it.
Step 11: Icy blue
Colour all 5 icicles and the drips sky blue, around the face and the shines. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Grey roof
Colour the roof bar slate grey. Go over your lines and you're done!
