How to Draw a Mooncake
Draw a mooncake in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the top.
Step 1: The top
Above the middle of your paper draw a big flat oval, about a hand across, for the top.
Step 2: The bumpy side
From the oval's left end draw straight down, 7 soft bumps along the bottom, then up to the right end.
Tip Keep the sides straight and the bumps about the same size.
Step 3: Groove lines
From each dip between the bumps draw a straight line up to the edge of the top oval.
Step 4: A wavy ring
A finger in from the edge of the top, draw a ring of little bumps all the way round.
Step 5: A flower
In the middle of the top draw a tiny circle, then 6 petal ovals round it, not touching it.
Step 6: A plate
Draw a long flat oval plate behind the mooncake, passing just under it.
Step 7: The table
Draw a line under the plate from well left to well right, just touching its bottom.
Step 8: Sky plate
Go over your lines, then colour the plate sky blue.
Step 9: Golden side
Colour the bumpy side of the mooncake golden brown.
Step 10: Golden top
Colour the top golden brown too, going around the flower.
Step 11: Brown flower
Colour the petals and the little circle brown, and your mooncake is done!
