How to Draw Tonkatsu
Draw tonkatsu in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a plate.
Step 1: A plate
A little below the middle, draw a big oval plate, wider than it is tall.
Step 2: The rim
Draw a second oval a finger inside the plate, all the way round, for the rim.
Step 3: The cutlet
On the left of the plate, draw a long cutlet with a bumpy crumb edge all the way round.
Tip Tonkatsu is a crispy breaded pork cutlet, cut into slices and served with shredded cabbage.
Step 4: Slices
Draw 4 slanted lines across the cutlet, each starting at its top edge and stopping at its bottom edge.
Step 5: Cabbage heap
On the right of the plate, draw a heap of cabbage, bumpy all round like a fluffy cloud.
Step 6: Cabbage shreds
Inside the heap, draw 3 thin curved lines that start low on the left and stop up on the right.
Step 7: A lemon wedge
Under the cabbage, draw a half-round lemon wedge, then a curved line inside it from corner to corner.
Step 8: A cherry tomato
On the right, draw a round cherry tomato in front of the cabbage, with a little stem on top.
Step 9: Sky plate
Go over your lines, then colour the plate sky blue, around the food.
Step 10: Yellow lemon
Colour the lemon wedge yellow.
Step 11: Green cabbage
Colour the cabbage green, around the tomato.
Step 12: Ginger cutlet
Colour all 5 slices of the cutlet ginger brown.
Step 13: Red tomato
Colour the tomato red.
