How to Draw a Moon Base
Draw a moon base in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big dome.
Step 1: The big dome
Start left of the middle. Draw a big dome like an upside-down bowl and stop level with your start.
Step 2: Small dome and tunnel
Draw a smaller dome on the right. Join them with a low tunnel, one straight line from dome to dome.
Step 3: Porthole eyes
On the big dome draw a round porthole, a circle inside a circle. Draw 2 big egg eyes inside.
Step 4: The smile
Under the eyes draw a small U smile.
Step 5: The airlock door
On the left of the big dome draw an arched door down to the ground. Add an arch inside.
Step 6: Antenna and flag
Draw a line from the dome top up to a ball. On the left draw a flag on a pole.
Step 7: Moon ground
Draw the ground line out to both edges, and a wavy line below it. Add 3 flat oval craters.
Step 8: The Earth
In the top right draw a round Earth. Add 2 wiggly land blobs inside it.
Step 9: Stars
Draw 3 little stars in the sky, away from the Earth and the domes.
Step 10: Cream domes, yellow stars
Colour the domes and tunnel cream, around the porthole glass and the doorway. Colour the stars yellow.
Step 11: Pink cheeks, sky glass
Colour 2 pink cheeks beside the smile, then the glass sky blue around them. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Grey moon, red flag
Colour the moon ground grey, craters too, and the flag red.
Step 13: Green land, blue Earth
Colour the land blobs green, then the Earth blue around them.
Step 14: Navy doorway
Colour the doorway navy. Go over your lines and your moon base is done!
