How to Draw a Kaaba
Draw a kaaba in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: front wall.
Step 1: Front wall
In the middle of your paper, a little to the left, draw a big square.
Tip The Kaaba is shaped like a giant cube.
Step 2: The roof
From the top left corner draw a slanted line up right, then across, then slant down to the top right.
Tip The 2 slanted lines lean the same way and are the same length.
Step 3: Side wall
From the roof's far corner draw a line straight down. Slant back to the square's bottom corner.
Step 4: The base
Near the bottom draw a line across the front. Carry it up the side, slanting like the roof.
Tip The walls stand on a low base of pale stone.
Step 5: The band
A little below the top draw 2 lines across the front, a finger apart.
Tip Keep the 2 lines flat and the same distance apart.
Step 6: Band on the side
Carry both lines along the side wall. Slant them like the roof, stopping at the far edge.
Step 7: The door
On the left of the front, under the band, draw a tall box. Keep it above the base.
Tip The real door sits high above the ground.
Step 8: Two door halves
Draw a straight line down the middle of the door, from its top to its bottom.
Step 9: The ground
Draw a ground line from the left edge to the right edge, level with the bottom of the front.
Step 10: Gold band and door
Go over your lines. Colour the band and the door yellow, like gold.
Step 11: Grey roof and base
Colour the roof and the base light grey.
Step 12: Black cloth
Colour the side wall dark grey. Colour the front black, around the door. Your Kaaba is done!
Tip Colour the door first, so the black does not smudge over it.
