How to Draw a Mansion
Draw a mansion in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: tall roof.
Step 1: Tall roof
Near the top, in the middle, draw a tall pointy roof with a thick brim sticking out along the bottom.
Step 2: Middle walls
Start on the brim near the left end. Draw the left wall down, across, and up to the brim.
Tip Make the walls tall: the middle of a mansion is 2 floors high.
Step 3: Two wings
Start halfway down each wall. Draw a long low wing out and back to the bottom. Add a flat roof.
Tip A mansion spreads out: the wings make it wide.
Step 4: Grand door
In the middle of the wall draw a tall door with a rainbow top. Add a round knob.
Step 5: Columns and porch
On each side of the door draw a tall thin column. Over the door draw a low pointed porch roof.
Step 6: Step and ground
From the bottom line under the door, draw a wide step down and back up. Add ground at both ends.
Step 7: Lots of windows
Draw 2 square windows above the porch, 2 in each wing, and a rainbow window high on the roof.
Step 8: Two chimneys
On each roof slope, start on the roof and draw a chimney up, across, and back down to the roof.
Step 9: Dome bushes
Draw a bumpy dome bush at each inside corner, where a wing meets the tall walls.
Step 10: Cream walls, sky windows
Colour the walls, columns and wings cream around the windows, door, porch roof and bushes, then the windows sky blue.
Step 11: Blue door, green bushes
Colour the door blue and the bushes green.
Step 12: Grey roofs
Colour the roofs, porch roof and step grey around the rainbow window, the chimneys brown. Go over your lines. Done!
