How to Draw the Louvre Pyramid
Draw the Louvre Pyramid in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the long palace.
Step 1: The long palace
Below the middle, draw a long flat box nearly from edge to edge, standing on the ground, for the palace.
Step 2: The middle pavilion
In the middle of the palace, draw a box rising above it, with a hat roof poking out both sides.
Step 3: Side roofs
Each side of the pavilion, draw a long flat roof along the palace top, slanting in at both ends.
Step 4: The glass pyramid
In front of the palace, draw a big triangle standing on the ground, its point just under the pavilion.
Step 5: Glass grid
Inside the pyramid, rule 2 lines across from side to side, and 2 from the point down to the bottom.
Step 6: Two little pyramids
Draw a small triangle pyramid standing on the ground near each end, in front of the palace.
Step 7: Palace windows
Along the palace bottom, draw 2 arched windows each side of the big pyramid, and 1 in the pavilion.
Step 8: Upstairs windows
Higher up, draw a row of small square windows along the palace: 4 on each side.
Step 9: Ground, pools and sun
Draw the ground line from edge to edge. Add a flat oval pool below it on each side.
Tip Draw a small sun with short rays high on the right.
Step 10: Cream palace, yellow sun
Colour the palace and pavilion cream, going round the windows. Colour the sun yellow.
Step 11: Sky glass, grey ground
Colour the 3 pyramids and 2 pools sky blue. Colour the ground light grey around the pools.
Step 12: Blue windows, slate roofs
Colour all the windows blue and the roofs dark grey. Your Louvre pyramid is done!
