How to Draw a Monkey Puzzle Tree
Draw a monkey puzzle tree in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the trunk.
Step 1: The trunk
Start on the ground and draw a tall trunk with a round top. Stop back on the ground.
Tip So spiky, even a monkey would be puzzled how to climb it!
Step 2: The top tuft
Over the round top draw a tuft with 3 bumpy tips curving up: one in the middle, one each side.
Step 3: Upper branches
Under the tuft draw a thick bumpy rope branch out each side, curving up at the tip.
Tip The soft bumps are the scales that cover every branch.
Step 4: Middle branches
Lower down draw 2 longer bumpy branches the same way, reaching out wider and curving up.
Step 5: Low branches
Lower again draw 2 long bumpy branches that droop down first, then curve up at the tips.
Step 6: Bark rings
Below the branches draw 2 short curved lines across the trunk, each from one edge to the other.
Step 7: The ground
Draw the ground line from far left to far right, through the bottom of the trunk.
Step 8: Grass
Start on the ground away from the trunk and flick up 2 short grass blades on each side.
Step 9: Green branches
Go over your lines, then colour the top tuft and all the branches dark green.
Step 10: Brown trunk
Colour the trunk brown, and your monkey puzzle tree is done!

Your finished drawing
