How to Draw Monkey Bars

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw monkey bars in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: top rail.

Print

  1. Step 1: Top rail

Near the top of your paper, draw a long thin rectangle lying flat, nearly from edge to edge.

Tip This is one side of the ladder you swing across, hand over hand.

  2. Step 2: Lower rail

Leave a small gap under it, and draw a second long thin rectangle just the same length.

  3. Step 3: Rungs

Join the 2 rails with 9 short rungs. Start each on the top rail and stop on the lower rail.

  4. Step 4: Four tall posts

Under each end of the lower rail, draw 2 tall thin rectangles straight down, a little apart.

  5. Step 5: Side ladder rungs

Between each pair of posts draw 5 short rungs. Start each on the left post, stop on the right post.

  6. Step 6: Ground

Draw one long ground line right under the 4 posts. Add 2 little grass tufts, each with 3 blades.

  7. Step 7: Sun and cloud

In the top right corner draw a small sun with 8 short rays. Add a small cloud on the left.

  8. Step 8: Yellow sun, white cloud

Colour the sun yellow and the cloud white.

  9. Step 9: Red top ladder

Colour the 2 long rails red. Leave the gaps between the rungs empty, so you can see through.

  10. Step 10: Grey posts

Colour the 4 posts grey. Go over your lines and your monkey bars are done!
