How to Draw a Mint Plant
Draw a mint plant in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the stem.
Step 1: The stem
From the bottom middle draw a thin stem straight up to near the top, getting narrower as it goes.
Step 2: The bottom leaves
Low on the stem draw a pointy oval leaf off each side, with a bumpy edge and a vein line.
Tip Mint leaves are pointy ovals with little round bumps all along the edge.
Step 3: The second pair
Leave a gap, then higher up draw another pair of bumpy leaves, a touch smaller, not touching the first pair.
Step 4: The third pair
Leave a gap and draw a smaller pair of bumpy leaves higher still.
Step 5: The top pair
Near the top of the stem draw the smallest pair of bumpy leaves, with a gap below them.
Step 6: The tip sprout
On the very top of the stem draw 2 tiny pointy leaves standing up in a V.
Step 7: Soil and ground
Draw a ground line from edge to edge, then a low soil hill on it around the stem.
Step 8: Green leaves
Go over your lines, then colour the 4 big pairs of leaves green.
Step 9: Green sprout
Colour the 2 tip leaves green too.
Step 10: Green stem, brown soil
Colour the stem dark green and the soil hill brown. Your mint plant is done!
